An Innovative Therapy for Autism
Magnetic eResonance Therapy (MeRT)

Your child's future can be more promising, even if previous treatments have not yielded the expected results.

MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) is a medication-free, non-intrusive approach that has demonstrated significant enhancements in communication, mood, environmental control, and beyond!

When a child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, it might feel like they inhabit a unique world of their own. This experience can be isolating and daunting, both for them and for you. We recognize that you envision the untapped potential in your child, and there's nothing you wouldn't do to support them in reaching that potential.

However, discovering an effective treatment plan can be challenging and stressful. Autism doesn't adhere to a "one size fits all" approach, and you might have experimented with various therapies and medications, only to find that they haven't yielded the desired outcomes.

Here at the Brain Treatment Center of Metro Atlanta, we provide an alternative method for addressing autism. This approach is known as MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy). MeRT is non-intrusive, free of medication, and can play a crucial role in assisting children in acquiring skills for more typical functioning.

Furthermore, MeRT complements other therapies, enhancing their effectiveness and maximizing the benefits derived from them.

Addressing the Unique Characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder with MeRT

Every case of autism is unique, with individual symptoms and coping mechanisms, even if children share a similar "level" or diagnosis. MeRT, Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy, is designed to address the distinct nature of Autism Spectrum Disorder by implementing a personalized treatment plan focused on balancing brainwave activity.

The MeRT process begins with precise brain imaging, utilizing a qEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram, or brain mapping) and an EKG (electrocardiogram). This crucial testing is fundamental to the success of MeRT. The qEEG reveals electrical signals in the autistic child's brain that differ from those without ASD. Following a comprehensive analysis of the test results, a tailored treatment plan is crafted using TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation).

The equipment administers gentle magnetic pulses to specific areas of the brain that are not functioning optimally. These pulses feel like gentle taps on the head. Through this approach, we optimize brain communication, fostering greater organization and synchronization. This enhancement can enable the patient to function at a higher level, exhibiting improved communication skills, social abilities, and increased independence.
